SECO Resource Overview and Renewable Energy Planning and Procurement Workshop

Thursday, November 01, 2018 -
6:00pm to 9:30pm

The intent of this workshop is to provide NCTCOG members: 1) an overview of Utility Rate Analysis and determining what types of utility rate structures/procurement strategies will make the most sense for your organization; 2) information about energy management resources available from the State Energy Conservation Office (SECO); and, 3) planning and procurement of renewable energy through long-term renewable energy purchasing agreements that are now available for local governments.

Workshop Objectives

  1. Provide an overview of Utility Rate Analysis and assess what types of utility rate structures/procurement strategies exist
  2. Learn about energy management resources available from the State Energy Conservation Office
  3. Learn about planning and procurement of renewable energy through services available under Texas Smart Buy Contract 961-M2, awarded by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts

Why you should attend?

  1. An increased level of environmental stewardship is expected from our public institutions to be visibly responsible leaders.
  2. Renewable energy is now cost competitive, and this could be a short window of opportunity to act.
  3. Incorporating renewables into an energy buy is complicated, along with the process of quantifying the value.
  4. Communication challenges and misconceptions exist along the chain of decision makers.

Procurement assistance and related RFP development services are available from Texas Energy Aggregation, LLC, under Texas Smart Buy Contract 961-M2, awarded by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts through a competitive RFP process with oversight by the State Energy Conservation Office.
